Why Columbus?
"This graphic is an aerial of Downtown Columbus, Ohio. Red indicates surface parking lots, at least 40 percent of the city.
This means that the 15th largest city in the USA has pavement where hundreds of businesses, restaurants, offices, and especially residences should be. But Columbus is far from being alone. Dozens of Heartland cities are similar parking lots."

Like others around the world, people in Columbus want more open public space, safer streets with less traffic, and better access to public transportation. Ongoing redevelopment downtown provides ample opportunities to meet this demand. Columbus Park(ing) Day will remind legislators and developers of their own green rhetoric of our city's Park(ing) potential.
